The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was a historic achievement that will vastly improve the lives of millions of Americans.
Led by RGA Chairman Gov. Haley Barbour of Mississippi, Republican governors, attorneys general, and candidates across the country are threatening to sue the federal government to have the healthcare reform law overturned.
Legal scholars are unanimous in their opinion that these suits have no merit. I urge all Republican officials to stop pandering to the far right wing of their party, drop the lawsuits, and work to make sure that constituents understand the full benefits of healthcare reform.
